Overview

Jabalpur is one of the most important city of Madhya Pradesh and also known as the cultural capital of state. The city is famous for major tourist attractions such as Dhuandhar Falls,Bhedaghat and Chausat Yogini Temple along with the festival of Navratri and Dusshera.

The word Bandhavgarh is a concoction of two words: Bandhav & Garh where ‘Bandhav’ means brother and ‘Garh’ means Fort. So the meaning of Bandhavgarh is brother’s fort. The best zone in Bandhavgarh is the Taala zone. This is the largest zone and most odds of locating a tiger is there. In spite of the fact that different zones have tiger sightings, however, this is the most favored zone for Bandhavgarh tiger safari! Khitauli zone in Bandhavgarh is presently open for visitors.

Kanha National Park was created on 1 June 1955 and in 1973 was made the Kanha Tiger Reserve. Today it stretches over an area of 940 km2 in the two districts Mandla and Balaghat. The park has a significant population of the Royal Bengal tiger, Indian leopards, the sloth bear, barasingha and Indian wild dog.
